Report of the ACP Annual General Meeting

Report on the ACP Annual General Meeting  - 23 October 2011

  1. The ACP Annual General Meeting was held at on 23 October 2011 at 11 a.m at the Media Centre, Pakistan Sports Complex, Kashmir Highway, Islamabad. Members from different parts of the country (ranging from Quetta, Swat and Skardu) participated. Prominent amongst them was the First Pakistani Everest summiteer Mr Nazir Sabir, Pakistan’s eminent mountaineer and the former President Alpine Club of Pakistan and Mr Hassan Sadpara, who is the second Pakistani to climb Mt Everest early this year.  

Activities Report by Secretary ACP     

  1. After approval of the Minutes of the last AGM held on 17 2.   Oct 2010 a comprehensive report on the ACP activities through multimedia presentation was made by Secretary ACP. Achievements of ACP during the year highlighted are as under:-
  2. Expedition Launching of the successful Pakistan Everest Expedition during which Hassan Sadpara climbed Mt Everest, becoming  second Pakistani to climb Mt Everest and first Pakistani to climb six mountains above 8,000 metres.
  3. Training        Training in following was conducted during the year:-
  4. Various Rock Climbing
  5. Winter survival trekking
  6. Trainers for Guide Course
  7. Elementary mountaineering course

c.   Sports Climbing    
       ACP Team training at Beijing, China – training report was presented by Team leader and Secretary ACP Mr Abu Zafar Sadiq.
d.   Other Activities

  1. Baltoro Clean up expedition
  2. International Mountain Day 2010
  3. Expeditions that visited Pakistan during 2011 – briefing and debriefing
  4. Approval of the Audited Accounts, Schedule of Activities and Budget for 2011-12 After some discussion audited accounts of the Club for the financial year 2010-2011 were approved. M/S Zeeshan Ali Associates, the previous Auditors was appointed auditors for the year 2011-2012. The schedule of activities and budget for the financial year 2011-2012 was also approved. Details of the schedule of activities available on the website shortly.

 Attendance at General Assemblies of UIAA, UAAA and Nepal Visit

  1. President ACP during his address, besides presenting his activity report of Nepal visit emphasized that performance during the past year, though was improved but yet was not satisfactory. The committees concerned need to make more inputs to improve all aspects of the Alpine Club. Performance is the best judge of any organisation and is the main tool against any negative reports/publicity. He outlined priorities for the year 2011-2012. Later he made slide presentation of his Nepal visit including activities/meetings of the ACP delegation held with various other federations.
